The Cylinder of Remembrance
By Jason Goldtrap 09.12.05

The Cylinder of Remembrance is a portable memorial by which each visitor can touch and feel the sorrow and sadness of Flight 93.

The summit of the Cylinder of Remembrance is red to indicate the shame we should feel as Americans for forcing the Arabs to react to unfairness by piloting a plane towards the center of the Earth in an attempt to tunnel their way to Mecca.

The Silver Bands of Oppression stands for the military/industrial complex which has massacred the poor.

A 6 inch, yellow Hexagon of Hope symbolizes the unification of the world for men, women, transgender, multi-gendered, and Michael Jackson.

The Tan Mountain of the Rugged Individualists bursts from the Hexagon of Hope, which is properly being whittled away by the Dark Pyramid of Peace (Submission).

The Cylinder of Remembrance is a work designed by Gutless, Pabulum, Mousy, and Whittles, an architecture firm based in Berkley, California operating with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Cylinder of Remembrance can be shared by anyone wanting to feel their way through life while not being shackled to the thinking part of the brain. We only ask that you return The Cylinder of Remembrance after completing your moments of meditation. We also ask that you not chew on it or use it to clean your ears or make a "rubber Cylinder of Remembrance" by rapidly oscillating the memorial.
