Beware The Little Foxes
by Jason Goldtrap 10.12.05

Song of Solomon 2:15 Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grape.

Adult foxes eat grapes. Young foxes gnaw vines. In their own unique ways they destroy the vineyard.

"What is a tender grape?" A child or a new Christian.

"What is a little fox?" A little sin that can ruin a crop.

Gossip = Back biting and speaking evil of fellow Christians, even if something might be true should you be saying it?

Doubt = Doubting that God can forgive you so you don’t even try to live a Godly life or become a Christian.

Heresy = Desiring to replace Godly worship with popular entertainment or replacing Christ's doctrine with man's opinion.

Rebellion = Being not willing to follow the instructions or guidance of our elders.

Laziness = Not lending a hand when you are able to do so. Not teaching a class or, even worse, saying you will and then not showing up.

Beware the little foxes
For our vines have tender grapes
And they desire to eat them up
And quickly make their escape
And then before you know it
Our vineyard turns to dust
By our neglect the young reject
Their simple faith and trust

But God, the Master Gardener,
Has promised us relief
He will deliver abundance
If we cultivate belief
So tonight if you are hurting
In body or in soul
Put your trust in the only One
Who can truly make you whole

Don’t delay another minute
For it slips by too fast
This may be your final moment
The next day may be your last
Right now the water is warm
Become a child of the King
Make your desire known to us
As together we stand and sing
