1. Name: Diane Ellen Grossman

2. Date of Birth: October 26, 1892

3. Place of Birth: Eagle Creek

4. Parents: Augustus and Patricia Grossman

5. Siblings: Olivia Shannon (1886-), Bernadette Matine (1888-), Isaac Nicholas (1891-1901), Thomas Wayne (1894-)

6. Describe your childhood. I grew up on a ranch, the biggest one in Sheridan County.

7. What did you enjoy doing as a child? I enjoyed playing dress up with my sisters Bernadette and Olivia. We'd put on little shows for the ranch hands at supper time.

8. What is your earliest memory? Being cradled in my mother's arms.

9. How old were you when you went on your first date and where did you go? 14. Maxwell Willis spent some time with me in River City on one of the Friday night trips. We went to the arcade, Tate's and the River Walk.
At the end of the night I thought he would kiss me goodnight but instead he got real nervous and didn't do anything. I was so mad at him I didn't speak to him for a month.

11. Pets? I live in a dorm so it's not practical to have pets.

12. Education: Eagle Creek School, class of 1909. I am a freshman at Jennings University in Helena.

13. Current friends: Carmen Tallard, Rene Docherty, Phyllis Birdwell

14. Occupation: Student. Filmmaker, in a few years.

15. What was your first job? Helping out at Lucille's during Christmas time.

16. How much did you make? Fifteen cents an hour.

17. What is your favorite quote? "We know what we are, but know not what we may be." - William Shakespeare, Hamlet

18. What are you doing now? Unpacking. I arrived in town an hour ago, you gave me a ride over to the ranch.

20. Do you admire a famous person? I got to meet J. Searle Dawley last week. He came and spoke to our film class. He directed the movie "Frankenstein."

I've seen it 12 times! Isn't it scary?

21. What makes them admirable? Searle was just a polite, well spoken, charming man. He told us all about how the film was made. His presentation was very exciting.

22. What is your favorite food? Steak

23. What is your favorite color? Emerald, like my eyes

24. What is your favorite song? I'm Falling In Love With Someone by Rida Johnson Young. It's all the rage at Jennings with the co-eds.

25. Hobbies: I like shopping in Helena. They have some elegant stores there.

26. Name of the last book you read? Time's Laughingstocks by Thomas Hardy. I had to read it for my modern literature class.

27. Tell me about a memorable moment in your life; a time you will never forget. The first time I got off the train in Helena. I had never travelled alone and here I was 400 miles from home.

28. What things do you find yourself doing that you said you'd never do? Consider eloping. If my boyfriend, Douglas, asked me to runaway with him I'd probably do it. I am soooo in love with him.

29. What are the goals you are still working toward? I'd like to direct a film. As far as I can tell, there aren't any female movie directors so I'd be the first.

30. When people look back at your life, how do you want to be remembered? Colorful and filled with happiness.

31. What is your favorite outdoor activity? Picnicing with Douglas

32. Do you attend church or religious services? I go to Eagle Creek Memorial when I'm home. I usually go to the chapel service on Sunday at Jennings when I don't sleep in.

33. What is your favorite Bible verse? Psalm 25:6

34. What makes you happy? Being home. I miss this little town.

35. What makes you sad? Making bad grades. I made two Cs last semester. I thought my mom was going to run to Helena and spank me.

36. What frightens you? Thunderstorms

37. What is there about you that would surprise people if they found out? The class of 1909 fish-tree was my idea!
